Given the instructions from the government regarding COVID19, we have asked instructors to follow the guidance to stop the spread. We’re supporting the campaign to contain the spread. STAY ALERT >>> STAY SAFE >>> PROTECT LIVES……
I want to update you as the Managing Director on what DIVERSE is doing to help slow the spread of the COVID-19, the guidance that the instructors and our customers can follow in these testing and challenging times.
As you know, we had suspended driving lessons till April 2021 to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19.
As you can appreciate we know that every day in the United Kingdom, nearly 2,000 people turn 17. While the UK was in lockdown, 5000 driving tests were put on hold on a daily basis. That’s a lot of lessons to get through and a lot of new learners wanting to take driving lessons.
DIVERSE restarted lessons on Monday 12 April 2021, and are prioritising the allocation of space in instructors’ diaries to those who pre-paid for lessons in advance, there is a big backlog.
On 05 April 2021, the government announced that driving lessons to FULLY RESUME from Monday 12th April 2021. We have a duty of care to follow the guidelines issued by the government to stop the spread of COVID19. Our instructors follow guidelines and any pupils learning to drive with us will be expected to do the same.
If you are unsure of the guidelines, please follow the links below:
It may help if I explain that not all driving examiners or instructors are able to provide this service because those vulnerable from COVID-19 need to stay at home, so test availability or driving lessons maybe limited, please do contact us and we can then look at how to plan your lessons so you are test ready.
The instructor will contact you ahead of each lesson to establish:
We have put in place appropriate precautionary measures in line with the latest guidance Public Heath England to prevent the spread of COVID-19 to keep you, and everyone safe. The instructor will ask you:
The instructor will ensure the vehicle is regularly cleaned before and after each training session/driving test. So before you enter the car the instructor will have wiped over the following contact points:
Car key, key barrel, stop/start button, door handles (inside and out), seat belt/fastener/buckle, seat belt height adjuster, mirrors (front/rear), windows, window controls, front seats, seat adjusters, steering wheel, steering wheel height adjuster, parking brake, gear lever, indicator, wiper stalks, glove compartments, door pockets, sat nav, light controls and any other ancillary controls with a disinfectant mixed with antibacterial soap at the beginning and end of each training session.
This to reassure you that we are taking all the necessary steps to keep everyone safe, as guidance changes this will be reviewed. The Government and NHS have provided some tips and advice on how we can keep on top of our mental wellbeing and cope during this time.
